Harrisonburg Dog Portraits | Virginia Dog Photographer | Wilson
Dog portraits are quickly becoming one of my most important missions in life. The point of life is to make connections with people we love. Why do we not preserve their memories better? We love our dogs more than anything, so why do we not invest in quality pictures of them? Capturing our connection to our best friends is the best thing we could invest in. Let’s do it more.
Mattie adopted Wilson the golden doodle puppy when he was only a few weeks old. We quickly set up a date to take pictures while he was still small. Our location of choice was the JMU Quad because we obviously had to get pictures of Wilson outside of Wilson (the main JMU building). Wilson loved playing with sticks, leaves, our feet, the grass, and literally anything else in sight. He was a furball of nonstop motion. I captured some of my favorite pictures while running backwards with my camera and him chasing me.
By the time this blog post comes out, Wilson will be much bigger. His cute little JMU bandanna probably won’t fit him anymore. He will definitely still love treats and cuddles, and he will still be a ball of energy, but he is no longer small enough to pick up with one hand.
Photograph your dog when you first get them, when they’re young, when you’ve had them for a year, when they’re full sized, when you’ve had them for ten years, and when it’s time to say goodbye. Photograph your dogs.
How CUTE is his JMU bandanna?? What a model!
