Hawksbill Summit Bmonk Adventure
I freakin love having awesome teammates. Not too long ago, I posted in our team group chat: “Would anyone like to hike up on Skyline Drive and model for me?” Immediately I had three volunteers, and Crystal, Roco, Asstat and I drove up into the mountains. We hiked the Hawksbill Summit trail, which was a 1 mile steady incline with a nice path and took us about 25 minutes of good walking. The summit was incredible: we were at the highest point of the park, and we had a 360 degree view. In any direction you turned, you were greeted with rolling hills, rocks, and distant towns. We spent some time exploring and appreciating the views, and then we spent several hours taking photos (we had planned on a 1 hour photo shoot, but when we were done we realized it had been over 2 hours – oops).
Roco brought her own camera, and I brought two of mine. While I was using one to take portraits of one girl, I gave my second camera to the last girl so she could take whatever photos she wanted and have fun with a professional camera. Not only did I get some exciting portraits, but I got behind the scenes photos of me taking those exciting portraits, which you guys can expect to see for the rest of forever.
After we hiked back down to the car, it was close enough to sunset that we decided to stop at my favorite overlook, The Point Overlook, to get the last few minutes of the light. It was quiet, peaceful, and we took time to just appreciate the awe of Shenandoah.
Thank you Crystal, Roco, and Asstat for joining me in our adventure, and I can’t wait to do it again!
