My Graduation Portraits
I can’t believe I’m blogging this. I graduated???
I’m not sure where the time went, but yes I did. This May 2020 I graduated with my Bachelors of English. It’s been quite a full four years. So much has happened, and I can honestly say that I’ve grown as a person and I have a much better grasp of who I want to be and what I want my life to be like.
My college journey is not over yet. Just one week after I turned in my final papers, I started summer graduate school. In May 2021 I will have my Masters of Education and my Virginia teaching certificate. I’m only one year away from having the qualification I need to be a high school English teacher.
Although I didn’t get the graduation ceremony I had been thinking about for years, I did get the graduation portrait experience. Thanks to my friend Sam, I got photos I will cherish for a lifetime. I had the best time swapping portraits with her on the JMU Quad. It’s an experience I’ve given to dozens of other seniors over the years and it was fun to be on the other side.
Hopefully next year I’ll get the graduation ceremony and the chance to celebrate with friends and family, but for now, I’m happy with these photos to celebrate the past four years. Here’s to round five!
