Valentine’s Day 2019 will forever be the best Valentine’s Day in existence because of these two. After weeks of planning, many stages of the scheme, and countless late-night revisions, Colin successfully surprised Savanna with a proposal and she said YES!

February 13th, my fellow co-captains and I cancelled practice for Valentine’s Day to give our team the weekend to rest. That night, I texted Savanna and her two best friends and asked them to do a cute Galentine’s Day shoot on the Quad for fun. Right about then, Colin drove to the Dallas airport and hopped on a flight to Virginia, and because he couldn’t talk to Sav for a few hours, he told her he was playing video games.

The next day finally came. Colin and I arrived at the Quad early to take some test shots and figure out our placements. At exactly 4 PM, Colin hid behind a building as Sav, Kristin, and Sara arrived. For the first five minutes, we did goofy walking photos and group shots to get out the nerves. I said it was time for individuals and volunteered Sav to go first. This was Colin’s cue to start walking up behind her.

He tapped her on the shoulder and she screamed, turned around, realized who it was, and started happily sobbing. When he started to get down on one knee, she started jumping up and down and we all started crying.

We’ve watched the video that Kristin took approximately a million times, and I plan on watching it a million more.

Sav and Colin, you two deserve the absolute best in life, and we’re all so happy to be there with you in that moment. I can’t wait for the engagement session.
